Riley just celebrated her FOURTH birthday! It was the first birthday that she was counting down the days. The first birthday that I felt she understood what having a birthday meant. The day before her actual birthday, she got to celebrate at school and have a little party :) She picked out what she wanted to wear! (haha!)

Her class got to have some delicious cupcakes form Sarah at For the Love of Sugar!

She picked Strawberry Shortcake as her cupcake theme for school. :)

I can't believe we've been married for 6 years already!!! Wow that flew by! We had a sweet little picnic at the park with Riley for our anniversary. It was perfect! It might be our new tradition. It was so much more fun than going to a fancy dinner.

We celebrated Grandpa's birthday at the Angel's game last weekend. The last time Riley went to the game was when she was about 1 and she cried every time people cheered. Oh and she wasn't heavy enough to sit in the seat. It would fold on her. haha.

This time she asked if it was over by the 3rd inning, then slept on me the last 4 innings :)

Last month my parents went to Palm Springs for a vacation, and we were able to head there for a few days. While there, Riley gained the confidence to jump in the pool....something we've been trying to get her to do at home. Must have been the 109 degree heat.

This week we went to the Aquarium with Sarah and Charlotte. My first time, Riley's second. I was surprised! It was a lot different than what I expected. The girls just had a BLAST!!!!

Marky plays in a soccer league every Thursday night. He always asks us to come, but his games are always so late, and so cold!!!! But last week, we went, and we had so much fun!
I brought my little point and shoot and took some fun pictures of us to keep our mind off how freezing cold we were :)

Valentine's Day.

This year we spent Valentine's a day early, so we could spend the whole day as a family. After church we went to the $3 movie theater in huntington, and saw Tangled....again. Marky's first time seeing it. Riley's third. :) Riley acted like it was her first. She mostly stood to watch and was so anxious at each scene. After some relaxing and a nap for Riley, we went down to The Block to walk around and have dinner. The Block is a pretty special place for us, since it is where we had our very first date, back in December, 2002.

and she painted a canvas for Daddy for Valentine's Day.

and when she was finished, she turned around, and I couldn't believe how long her hair was. Almost to her waist!

"Chick-a-rae" (chick-fil-a) is her favorite place to eat. She loves being able to have LOTS of dipping choices. :)

Drowns her lips in lipgloss EVERY DAY.

If a stranger asks her how old she is, or comments on her outfit, she gets EXTREMELY shy.

She's such a big helper. Loves to help me with anything! Helps me put on makeup, helps me make dinner, helps me bake, and her favorite is to help me fold laundry. I will even catch her in her room folding ALL her underwear and putting them nicely in her basket.

She'll frequently give us a "married kiss" (she grabs the back of our neck's and kisses us long and hard! haha.)

If anyone kisses on tv or a movie, she makes a comment about them being married.

Her daily phrase is, "i wanna do it myself."

Her memory is CRAZY good. If I tell her something, she'll hold me to it. I ALWAYS have to follow through with my promises with her.

2010 was a GREAT YEAR!

Here's a little recap.

we celebrated our fourth anniversary with a sick kid.

Riley celebrated her 2nd birthday.

We went to Sonora a few times, and Riley got to play in her first snow.

Riley started pre-school at Calvary.

Christmas Time!

Christmas was a BLAST this year! She understood so much more than last year! This year she asked for a bike and a Rapunzel dress. Well, she got the bike. She finally has a big girl bike with training wheels! I haven't snapped any pictures of her riding it yet, but I will! She got TONS of princess dresses, and a princess tent, princess dolls, princess books, one million lip glosses and lots of Rapunzel dolls and things. She was so spoiled this year!

Update on Potty and Poopy-Training.

Riley was potty-trained in the first week of November. whoo hoo!! It took 3 whole days. I didn't use pull-ups, just underwear. Even for naps and throughout the night. She only wet the bed once. She had some accidents here and there, but she caught on pretty good that week. As for poop...all the bribery, all her favorite things taken away, and it seems nothing was working! We'd have good days and bad days, then FINALLY, a whole month later, it finally clicked! It's been over a week and no accidents!!! :) We are SOOO proud of her, and I am sooo happy that it is OVER! I officially HATE potty-training!!! The stress, the frustration, the crying - ugh! So happy its done!

When we began doing it, we promised her she can go to build-a-bear when she is done - and she was soooo excited!

Christmas Boat Ride

This year we made a new tradition. A Christmas Boat Ride through Naples. It's a fun little boat that takes you on an hour ride that circles through the harbor in Naples. SO FUN!....except when it started raining. Luckily there is outer and inner room to hang out. The kids all had a blast! Next year, we'll book it closer to Christmas, since the first week in December, there were so many houses with no lights! :(

Just 2 weeks after Micaiah was born, we got a chance to drive up north to meet him! Riley kept talking about how she wanted to hold him first. SO CUTE! I was able to take some newborn pictures of him :)

It was so much fun visiting Isaac and Victoria and getting to hold, kiss and love on Micaiah. Loved putting him to sleep, loved rocking him, loved taking in his sweet smell and loved just staring at him. We can't wait to see him again!!!!

Angie! God is so funny how our lives are so tangled up at different times. She is so uplifting, encouraging, loving and is such a godly woman! We actually got the chance to go out this weekend with out our girls! We got to get dressed up, and try a new restaurant. We got to pray and have deep conversations. Yesterday morning at 3:50am.

He is 7 lbs and 5 oz.

It's going to be a few weeks before we'll be able to drive up there and see him; so we begged them to Skype with us last night! So, we got to meet our brand new Nephew for the very first time through Skype! :) How crazy is that!?

So while we were skyping... I snapped a few pictures through skype.

The Happiest Place on Earth

Our passes expired back in like April. So when we got the opportunity to go yesterday, we were STOKED! We spent the entire day there! Bet was able to come meet us after she got off work. We went on tons of rides and did so much walking that my legs are DEAD!

We went on the cheeeesy jungle cruise first, then pirates and then winnie the pooh....then went into the petting zoo thing that they have.

While we were in there, we got to see Woody and Jessie!!

Riley was so excited but sooooo shy.

She doesn't look thrilled to see them!

We just had to go on the carousel. We were VERY smart.

While we went on the carousel, Marky was in line across the way for Dumbo.

So after the carousel, Marky took her on the ride while I got in line, so I can take her too. :)

After Dumbo, we met up with Bet, and we went to the Buzz Lightyear ride. You know, the lazer gun ride. The one where Bet is UNDEFEATED!

We headed to the cars.

Riley drove Bet.

She was having a BLAST!

Riley fell asleep after lunch, so while she was alseep, Marky wanted a re-match with Bet on Buzz Lightyear.

While they were having a re-match, BUZZ walks right by us!

She probably would have been so in awe she would have fell over.

Oh, so Marky ended up BEATING Bet in the re-match! She is no longer the Buzz Champ. Marky is LOVING that he won.

Riley's favorite book right now is Pinkalicious. I read it to her a few times a day and she loves it! So I thought she would love to make the same cupcakes in the book.

After our playdate with Makenzie and Isaiah last week, we stopped off at our favorite private park in Huntington Beach. Marky played with his fast car (RC car) while me and Riley rolled down hills and played.

While Marky was playing with his car, I sat down to take a picture of Riley laying on the grass...

After this, she said she wanted to take a picture of me....

I took it back, and took another of her. She wanted to lay just like how I was.

She took mine again.

Then daddy walked up, so she took his.

oops...she missed his head.

I think she's about to blink.

She did take a lot that were out of focus...BUT she definitely took the ones of us IN FOCUS :)

Quick Playdate

Last week we were able to have a quick playdate at the beach with Isaiah and Makenzie. They played in the sand, Marky took them on a walk....or he followed them down to the water and carried two of them back up is more like it :) A stop in Jamba Juice for lunch and potty breaks at HSS. It has been about a month since the 3 of them have played together; and you can tell they really miss each other :) so cute. Of course I brought my camera, to snap a few...

So Riley is just over 2 1/2 years now. Boy has time flew! These last few months have been so hard and trying. As much fun and joyful and amazing Riley is, it's not always all smiles. Potty training has been challenging, as well as switching from crib to big girl bed. Lately though, it's been more of testing, and defiance. She LOOOVES to use "no"...but its not just a "no," its the look she gives with the "no" and she drags the "N" like 'nnnnnnnnnno"...Oh i hate it. She uses it because she knows we hate it. She says it to her Aunts, and both Grandmas! Then there's the not listening, or obeying. I have been PRAYING like crazy lately for patience. LOTS of patience. I am not sure who even reads this blog (whoever you are, comment! I would like to know who reads this:) ), but if you have facebook, I made a comment about how hard it is to have a 2 year old, and most comments I got were, "3's are harder!" So PLEASE pray for my patience as she tests me, and pray that I am disciplining her right.....thank you :)

Yesterday I took Riley to a park to just take some fun pictures of her. Again, for those of you that have facebook (those that dont...WHY NOT?!?!) you have already seen these pictures. :)
